Photos Duplicate Cleaner App Reviews

Great program, but useless when about 1000 or more duplicates are found which crashes the program. It also fails to check if the duplicate photo is in a read only folder. No warning is given to the user that it won’t move the duplicate photo to the trash. But instaead gives the appearance that the photo has been deleted when it really didn’t.

I am one of those computer-almost know-what-I’m-doing people and am, therefore, dangerous to myself. I’ve had 10 years of phoptography and did a miserable job filing, backing up, etc. which leaves me with uncountable dups. I just ran this for the first time - lightening fast! I need to spend just a little time being sure I understand what I’m doing, but it seems very easy to use and runs like a top. LOVE IT!

This app is quick and I mean QUICK! Tell it what folders or group of photos you want it to look through and it does the rest. When removing photos you can go through and select which individual photos you’d prefer to delete or you can have the app do an auto select based on predetermined criteria that you choose (it explains how before you just click and go) and then shows what it has selected for you to review and edit if you so choose to do. Finally just tell it to delete the photos and you’re done. Straight forward and easy to use. Just what I wanted it to be!

I looked up online how to get rid of duplicate photo’s and this was the first thing that poped up!! Figured I would give it a shot and WOW!!! It worked so well!! THANK YOU!!

Why cant I compare two folders due to scan them? The probably to have the same photo at two different places are higher than just one..

I decided to do a spring clean on my Mac,image my surprise when it showed I had 41,368 photo’s on the Mac and 2 external HD’s,99.9% not taken by me but by my daughter,anyhow it did find and removed the duplicates and freed up over 69 GB’s,so it does really work

I have same photos with different sizes, but the sftw didnt find it. I think it only works with identical files.

This program is really great, it does not delete, but mark as duplicate on Photos. Unfortunately, it does not scan NEF files, which I have tons of it. I also found some duplicates marked as shared that it didn’ t mark them as duplicated.

Simple, practical, organized, direct.

It did everything it was supposed to except one important step. It found the duplicates, it made an album in my Photos app for the duplicates, but it did not add the duplicate photos to the folder. I tried it twice, no luck.

Very well done without messing directly with the photo software it’s a clean solution. I don’t have to worry that the sotfware is messing with my originals.

Quickly scans a folder and finds groups of duplicates. Reveal in Finder to take care of it yourself (useful for bulk jobs), or just click in the app and mark one of them for deletion. Top stuff :)
