Did exactly what I needed and did it fast! Deleting duplictes for “Photos” Library has a couple extra steps but still only took me 5 minutes to delete over 3000 duplicates!

Simple, clean, efficient; does what I need it to do. Perfect!

App was very effective to find duplicates but there was no way to filter out between renamed files. This meant manually scrolling through all of the duplicates, deselecting the stock name and selecting the renamed (descriptive) filename. Eventually I’d had enough and just hit erase. Could also use a list view so you could scroll through names more easily. Also simply being able to click on the picture vs. the small checkbox, would make the job much easier. Otherwise simple to use and worked well and done the job done quick and cheap.

Doesn’t work. I opened the app, added my photos library (which I know for a fact has several duplicates), searched for duplicates and the result was zero. Can’t understand why this app is so highly rated. It doesn’t even work a little bit.

Great simple GUI and fully automated process. Photos library cleaned in 15 minutes including verification. Step by step instruction on how to delete duplicates makes the whole process safe.

I am using it regularly and it is really a pleasure to use it. thank you so much for the good job.

Not pleased with this software. While it seemed to work well the FIRST time I used it, afterward it became a joke. It misses photos that other Apps have found and that I have visually discovered. To ensure I wasn’t being too critical, on the ones I discovered I ran them through the program and it overlooked them not once but several times in my attempt to understand why. This included shutting Big Mac and then starting up again.

Having my photos library begin with the purchase of my first digital camera in 2003, and morph across every version of iPhoto until I pretty much broke iPhoto with my library size, then migrating to Aperture that was far more robust, until support for Aperture died, and finally into Photos, it can be easily said that my library is a mess. One weird quirk was that when moving from iPhoto to Aperture, the albums often duplicated images, leading to a shed-load of duplicates. I had manually fixed a lot of this, but gave up the Sisyphean task as too tedius. Photos Duplicate Cleaner came in and quickly found the pile of ducplicates, and made it trivial to cleanse them from my library. And it is free.

Should be a built in feature of photos.
